Barack Obama has no Accomplishments and Watson Proves it!

State Senator Kirk Watson of Texas proved a favorite talking point of mine: that Barack Obama has no significant accomplishments to prove that he can lead this country. He was grilled on MSNBC and choked really bad when asked point blank:

Well, name some of his legislative accomplishments. No, Senator, I want you to name some of Barack Obama’s legislative accomplishments tonight if you can.

The response was a bumbling cover up of the fact that he couldn’t think of a thing! Read it at Ed Morrissey and weep you Bammites!

Even more pathetic was Kirk Watson’s attempt at reconciling his bumble. He uses the old “mind went blank” excuse and procedes to list off a few of Obama’s perceived accomplishments. Even the ones he listed are vague ones at that. It’s kind of like the kid that flunks the test and goes to look up the answers later. Then he gives them to the teacher long after the test is over. Doesn’t count SON!

That’s too bad that Senator Watson wasn’t prepared to give an anaswer on Senator’s Obama’s accomplishments. That just proves that those guys from Texas aren’t too bright. Look at our present leader, he hails from Texas and he is not the brightest star in the sky.

    Here are a few:

    – His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent, the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 which Obama co-authored and that led to USAspending.gov, which keeps Americans better informed on government spending.

    – Recognizing the terrorist threat posed by weapons of mass destruction, he traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world. This Lugar-Obama legislation that has helped decrease the threat of old nuclear, biological, and chemical weapon in the former Soviet Union.

    – Obama has also been very active in legislation to end the Iraq war and the much-heralded Dignified Treatment of Wounded Warriors Act, which passed in July of 2007 and addressed the hideous treatment, received by Veterans under the Bush administration, began its legislative life as the Dignity for Wounded Warriors Act, introduced by Obama earlier in the year.

    – In the Illinois State Senate, he worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state.

    – He has also been the lead voice in championing ethics reform that would root out Jack Abramoff-style corruption in Congress.

Obama has been in the Senate for almost four years, two of which were spent with a Republican majority that would not even let legislation sponsored by Democrats reach the floor for a vote and, on the few occasions where Bill Frist granted such a luxury, Republicans shot down most Democratic initiatives with extreme prejudice.

In the current (110th) Congress, the Republican minority has blocked everything but the Senate chaplain’s Morning Prayer and is on pace by a wide margin to filibuster more legislation than any Senate in U.S. history.

Someone please pass this informaiton to Senator Watson.

HA! You think congressional legislation makes a damn bit of difference in what Russia does with its nukes? Well, hell, why didn’t we just outlaw communism in Russia during the Cold War then? Obama did dick as a senator, and now as president, he’ll do even more dick – which means more of nothing.

This kills me: “Obama has been in the Senate for almost four years,” You forgot to mention that of those four years he spent a whopping 143 days of them actually doing his JOB. As president, he’s actually going to have to come to work.
